Today’s featured member, Lizeet Bustamantes & Porfirio Salazar, owners of Cafecito Mexican Bakery, says Cafecito Mexican Bakery’s is the first and only authentic Mexican bakery on the Eastside.
Tell us about your business
Cafecito Mexican Bakery was born from my personal journey to reconnect with my Mexican roots after being raised in foster care in Hawaii. Noticing the lack of a high-quality Mexican bakery in the Eastside area, my husband and I envisioned a space that would serve authentic pan dulce while becoming a gathering place for the community. Today, Cafecito is a cultural bridge where every pastry tells a story and every customer becomes part of a warm, welcoming family.
Supporting the local community is a priority for Cafecito Mexican Bakery. With every purchase of a coffee or pastry, funds funnel back into local causes and organizations.
Why did you join the Chamber?
Cafecito is about community and connection. Joining the Chamber and being a part of a larger community and connecting with other businesses and organizations seemed like a no brainer.
What do you value most about being part of our local business community?
Networking! Getting to know other like minded businesses and organizations.
What’s your favorite item on the menu?
My current favorite is the concha. We have a rotating menu of pan dulce, but the concha is the most classic, and always on our menu.
