Greetings, Seattle Metro Chamber members,
Congratulations everyone, we’ve almost made it through 2025! Let’s reflect on the progress we have made together and highlight how your priorities, as our members, are shaping 2026.
This year, our Index results showed rising optimism across the region, even as economic concerns persist. We are seeing improvements in safety, downtown recovery, and quality of life – and expressing a clear expectation for continued progress. We want leaders who protect local jobs, manage public resources responsibly, and maintain focus on essential city services. This forms the foundation for our work in 2026, ensuring that the Chamber’s advocacy, programs, and initiatives align directly with your needs and concerns.
What We Accomplished Together in 2025
Advocacy and Policy Impact
This year, and always, your priorities were at the center of our efforts. We advanced policies that support jobs, economic growth, and regional competitiveness. We defended I-2117, passed Seattle’s Transportation Levy, and held more than 250 meetings with elected officials.
Visibility and Communication
We strengthened your voice with year-over-year increases of media mentions by 170% and social engagement by 24%, and launching a refreshed website and brand. These improvements not only raise the visibility of the Chamber but also help your business and your priorities be seen and heard by the policymakers and partners who shape our region.
Equipping Businesses for a Successful World Cup 2026
We are making sure small businesses can take advantage of the opportunities FIFA World Cup brings by providing practical tools, playbooks, webinars, and AI-powered resources.
Member Engagement and Organizational Growth
We welcomed 400 new members in 2025 and hosted over 100 events, including one of our highest-attended Public Officials Reception and the return of the PNW Study Mission. Your participation helps drive programs, shape advocacy, and expand services that benefit all members.
Regional Milestones
This year also brought outstanding regional achievements, including the completion of Seattle’s 20-acre Waterfront Park, continued increases in downtown foot traffic, opening of the Federal Way light rail extension, and the Mariners’ divisional and postseason success. These milestones reflect long-term investment and renewed momentum across the region.
2026 Priorities
As we welcome 2026, we will focus on advancing policies and initiatives that strengthen the region’s economic foundation and support your health and prosperity. These priorities are grounded in your input, industry insight, and the expectations captured in the latest Index:
- Jobs: Supporting policies that grow local jobs and enhance regional economic vitality.
- Affordability: Advocating for accountability, measurable outcomes, and smarter spending to address the rising cost of living.
- Public Safety: Promoting measures that create safe conditions for employers, workers, and residents.
Your New Year’s Resolution
We would like to add a New Year’s resolution to your list – that is to deepen your engagement! We exist for you, and the more you are engaged, sharing your voice, the better we are at driving results for you. Here is your ‘2026 Chamber Engagement’ checklist:
