Following the announcement of the Boeing, International Association of Machinists 751 (IAM) and Aerospace Workers contract agreement on Nov. 1, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Rachel Smith issued the following statement:

“Boeing is one of the biggest drivers of economic activity in our state, and Boeing machinists are at the heart of that making the best airplanes in the world. That’s why this strike has challenged our region’s aerospace suppliers, small businesses, and communities. We along with so many others in the region were heartened when the company and IAM got back to the bargaining table. We are even more heartened now to see this union leadership-endorsed deal one that adds to the previous two proposals. We know IAM members will thoughtfully consider the benefits of this offer, and we hope they vote their approval on Monday.”
