Today’s featured members, Miki Sodos and Yuki Sodos, owners of Bang Bang Café, said they opened Bang Bang Café to bring Albuquerque-style cuisine up to Seattle.Tell us about your organization
We opened Bang Bang Café in 2009, a cheery daytime spot located in Belltown. We are originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and were inspired to bring this style cuisine up to Seattle. In addition to the Hatch Green & Red chiles from southern New Mexico featured on our menus, we have a full espresso bar featuring local favorite Lighthouse Roasters and a full scratch bakery. We always have been vegan-friendly and have gluten-free options as well! We have beer & wine, as well as wine-based cocktails and a variety of specialty coffee drinks.
Why did you join the Chamber?
We wanted a way to become more involved in the downtown business community. Small business has always been difficult, but in a post-pandemic world, is exponentially more difficult. We think strengthening our business community and making it a focus of our efforts is key for a vibrant downtown and the health of all types of businesses.
What are you/is your business interested in or what do you need currently?
Community engagement events and outreach are key to creating a vibrant downtown again. Making sure people get out of their homes and see the beautiful downtown and waterfront we have here in Seattle. Restaurants/cafes/bars are an integral part of communities, and we are happy to be a part of it.
