Tell us about your organization

The owners and operators of Layers, a husband and wife team, got their start in fine dining and transitioned to a food truck shortly before the pandemic. Since opening on Green Lake in July 2023, they hope to become not only a city favorite, but a sandwich beacon for their neighborhood.

Why did you join the Chamber?

We joined the Chamber for a plethora of reasons, from networking opportunities, business promotion, access to resources, etc. Thus far we haven’t felt like we have utilized our membership to the max, as we’ve been in the throes of opening our restaurant, and moving into the new year we’d like to participate more.

What are you/is your business interested in or what do you need currently?

It would be great to be able to surround ourselves with more restaurant and small business owners. Round tables! Been toying with the idea of hosting one at our place on a monthly or quarterly basis to invite a more established business owner in to help mentor and guide us through some of the more tough scenarios our industry faces. Promotion is a big one, obviously, we need butts in seats so the more people who know about us, where we are, and what we are currently doing, the more we can bank on being around for years to come. And then speaking strictly from a seasonal aspect, winter is especially difficult as it is the slowest time of the year for a restaurant, catering is something we lean on during this time to help carry us through the season – knowing how many non-food businesses are members of the Chamber, perhaps there is a way to promote services that food businesses can offer to those businesses that are non-food. Is this something that we can work together on?
