On June 23, volunteers from across the greater Seattle area dispersed in the blocks around T-Mobile Park for a community cleanup. Getting Seattle ready for the 2023 MLB All-Star Week events, volunteers organized by the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Seattle Association and Together Washington picked up litter, removed graffiti and beautified landscapes in SoDo, Pioneer Square, Chinatown-International District and the Waterfront.

We were thrilled to bring together community members across our region to roll up our sleeves and help Seattle get ready for the national stage. Our goal was to ensure downtown Seattle is clean and shiny so we can welcome an estimated 100,000 people to Seattle for 2023 MLB All-Star Week. This community cleanup – an event for our whole community that is anchored in the region’s business community – reflects our commitment to civic engagement. It’s our second event of a new partnership, Upward Together, a collaborative, community-wide effort that celebrates all greater Seattle’s milestones — from large-scale events to infrastructure ribbon cuttings to important milestones. You’ll be seeing more from this partnership in the weeks and months to come.
