Advocating for the needs of Seattle voters and businesses with our federal elected officials is an important priority for us.

In 2022, the Seattle Metro Chamber built on a strong program of advocacy begun during the pandemic to focus on key member challenges and opportunities.

In partnership with our strategic consultants at Monument Advocacy, our federal work this year included:

  • Sharing political analysis at key points in time, such as what the midterm election results meant for our region and the business community
  • Advocating for federal action on issues key to equitable economic recovery, including childcare
  • Successful support of key federal initiatives and investments such as the CHIPS and Science Act that provide opportunities for our region
  • Maintaining relationships with our Congressional delegation’s offices and providing our members opportunities to connect with their elected officials

As we look toward 2023, we’re excited to continue working together with our federal officials to advocate for the interests of the Seattle metro region’s voters and businesses.

We hope to see greater investments in childcare, transportation, housing, and affordability. We are committed to revitalizing Seattle’s vibrant and competitive economy by promoting both trade policies that grow our global competitiveness as one of the nation’s leading regional contributors to international trade, and policies that support small businesses and expand their access to capital.

In Seattle, business issues are closely tied to community issues. As we pursue our advocacy for our members and the communities they serve, we look forward to continuing and strengthening our partnership with our federal congressional delegation in Washington, D.C.
