Today’s featured members, partners and lead consultants Edward Byers and Charlotte Franklin at Onit Management Consulting, said their boutique consulting firm brings together best practices in project and program management, business process improvement, communications, and organizational change management to create interventions that stick. All projects involve change, and all change creates challenges and concerns. Onit’s skilled approach ensures that whether you’re implementing new technologies, undergoing organizational realignments, or changing policies and practices, the team can help you successfully manage from inspiration to adoption. To what do you attribute your business’ success?

Onit has a somewhat unique organizational structure, operating more like a consultant collective versus the traditional FTE model. This lets us bring together superbly experienced consultants to collaborate on a project-by-project basis, often over multiple years, or multiple engagements. Traditional staffing models rarely deploy more than one consultant of this caliber on an engagement, meaning these consultants rarely get to collaborate with their peers. Onit is owned and run by experienced consultants – experts who attract other experts and provide a creative and collaborative environment for them to do their best and most interesting work for Onit’s clients.

What does an equitable and inclusive regional economy look like to you?

As a 100% minority- and women-owned business based in the Puget Sound area, we thrive when our communities thrive, and our success fosters opportunities for others – a responsibility we take seriously. Onit is proud of its successful work for clients including King County, City of Seattle, Sound Transit, State of Washington, Microsoft, Premera Blue Cross and more, and we are confident in our ability to provide outstanding service at a competitive price. To us, equity and inclusion means giving us the opportunity to bid for work – opening your supplier networks so we can learn about your project needs and then giving us a chance to win on our own merits.

Are there partnerships you are/your company is currently looking for?

In addition to our direct work for regional government and commercial powerhouses, Onit is experienced in partnering with other firms. Our experienced communications, organizational change management, and process improvement small-medium enterprises (SMEs) have supported IT and other technical projects to facilitate user adoption. Our seasoned project managers have brought project management best practices to organizational realignments, mergers and acquisitions, and business policy change initiatives. Our training and communications SMEs have brought creativity to everything from construction to health care training. Whether you’re a firm going through a change, or a contractor in need of an adoption specialist, we can help your project.
