Keynote Presentation

Keynote Presentation By

A self-proclaimed “food evangelist”, Angela started Savor Seattle shortly after moving to Seattle in 2006. While living close to Pike’s Place market, she noticed an opportunity to connect people to the wonderful food options that the market and Seattle has to offer. Because of this desire to connect people to food, the Savor Seattle food tours began. Savor Seattle has been in business for twelve years and hosts more than 30,000 people per year.

With the onset of the pandemic, Angela needed to pivot the business in another direction. That pivot led to the Iconic Market Boxes. The boxes feature products from eight Pike Place Market vendors and can be shipped anywhere in the U.S.

Savor Seattle has sold more that 1,800 boxes and at this rate, it is estimated that it will be three to four times more profitable than its previous tour business. Not only is she keeping her Savor Seattle sustainable, but she is helping those small businesses located in the market stay open during this difficult time.

Best Practices for Reopening

Best Practices for Reopening

After months of shutdowns and remote working, businesses are gradually resuming on-site operations. Although work environments differ vastly from one another, two principles stand out as effective: tailoring safety measures to the unique business environment and implementing them across the full range of business activities (not just on-site operations). Throughout this conversation, guests will have the opportunity to discover what safety measures are appropriate and how to implement them.
