Since 1971, the University of Washington School of Medicine has facilitated a one-of-a-kind program that brings top medical education to five states: Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho. This program, also known as WWAMI, brings crucial knowledge and experience to medical students within these states and also ensures that smaller, more rural communities within these regions have access to top doctors and facilities in times of need.

With recent cuts to the Alaska State budget, budgetary constraints could now affect this nearly 50 year collaborative medical school and the communities its graduates reside and work in. Join us to hear from local leaders on how these states are partnering together on WWAMI, how this budget change could affect this program, and how this medical school impacts our students, our medical community, and our residents throughout five states.
