The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce today announced the appointment of Mindi Linquist as its new vice president of external relations. Linquist, who starts today, will lead the Chamber’s policy and government relations activities, including working with key partners in the private, public and nonprofit sectors to ensure that the Seattle region is the best possible place for companies and their employees.
Linquist brings extensive policy and political experience to the organization, with a nearly 20-year career of public service. In her most recent role, she served as campaign manager for the successful reelection of U.S. Senator Patty Murray (WA). Prior to this role, Mindi served as state director for Senator Murray, overseeing a statewide team responsible for constituent service, community and public engagement, and policy development. From 2007 to 2010, she served as the government and community relations manager for the Port of Kalama in Kalama, Washington. Mindi began her career as Southwest Washington Director in Senator Murray’s office, where she served as a bridge between Washington, D.C. and communities, businesses, and constituents at home.
Linquist joins a department that has successfully engaged with stakeholders around Seattle and the region to make a significant impact on issues as diverse as transportation, education, affordable housing and gender equity.
“Mindi’s deep understanding of both policy and politics make her an excellent fit to lead our external relations team,” said Seattle Metro Chamber president and CEO Maud Daudon. “Her keen understanding of issues that affect our economic competitiveness and her relationships with local leaders will be invaluable as we work toward a globally competitive region where businesses can flourish and everyone has the opportunity to succeed."
