Dear Seattle Metro Chamber Members:

It's official: the City Council voted 7-2 to repeal Seattle's tax on jobs this afternoon. We thank Mayor Durkan and the Councilmembers who voted in favor of the repeal.

Now, our region has the chance to move forward in a productive, focused, and unified way on the homelessness crisis.

From day one, the Seattle Metro Chamber has been clear that a tax on jobs is not the way to effectively address this crisis.

Our business community is ready to work on solutions—from employment, to technological innovation, to housing. We look forward to collaborating with federal and state government and the region to help address issues that affect housing stability.

Sincerely,
Marilyn
