Dear Seattle Metro Chamber Members:

Today, Mayor Jenny Durkan and a majority of the Seattle City Council called for a repeal of Seattle’s tax on jobs. This is a welcome development: repealing the tax on jobs gives our region the chance to move forward in a productive, focused, and unified way on our region’s homelessness crisis.

From day one, the Seattle Metro Chamber has been clear that a tax on jobs is not the way to effectively address this crisis. Thanks to each of you who joined us to carry this message.

Our business community is ready to work on solutions—from employment, to technological innovation, to housing. We look forward to collaborating with federal and state government and the region to help address issues that affect housing stability.
