Chamber Benefits Package
Regular full-time employees* of the Seattle Metro Chamber receive a premium benefits package described below. Benefits available to regular part-time employees* are also outlined below.
Health Insurance
- Medical: Regular full- and regular part-time employee can choose one of three plans:
a. Premera Sterling 750 Plus / Preferred Provider (PPO) Plan—for employees who work at least 30 hours per week, Chamber pays employee premium less employee medical premium share of $15, $25 or $35 (depending on salary); for employees who work between 20-30 hours (but fewer than 30 hours) per week, Chamber pays a pro-rated share of employee premium, less a pro rated employee medical
premium share (depending on salary). Employee pays for covered dependent/spouse**; orb. Premera Titanium 500 Prime / Preferred Provider (PPO) Plan—for employees who
work at least 30 hours per week, Chamber pays employee premium less employee medical premium share of $15, $25 or $35 (depending on salary); for employees who work between 20 30 hours (but fewer than 30 hours) per week, Chamber pays a pro-rated share of employee premium, less a pro-rated employee medical
premium share (depending on salary). Employee pays for covered dependent/spouse**; orc. Kaiser Permanente (HMO) Plan—for employees who work at least 30 hours per week, Chamber pays employee premium less employee medical premium share of $15, $25 or $35 (depending on salary); for employees who work between 20-30 hours (but fewer than 30 hours) per week, Chamber pays a pro-rated share of employee premium, less a pro-rated employee medical premium share (depending on salary). Employee pays for covered dependent/spouse**
- Dental: Delta Dental of Washington—Chamber pays the entire employee premium for employees who work at least 30 hours per week; Chamber pays pro-rated share of employee premium for employees who work between 20-30 hours (but fewer than 30 hours). Employee pays for dependents/spouse.**
- Vision: Vision Service Providers (VSP)—Covers eye exams (with copay), glasses and contact lenses (after copays); includes a benefit for laser surgery. Chamber pays entire
employee premium for employees who work at least 30 hours per week; Chamber pays pro-rated share of employee premium for employees who work between 20-30 hours (but fewer than 30 hours). Employee pays for dependents/spouse.**
Life and Long-Term Disability Insurance
- Life: Available only to full-time employees (defined as 40 hours per week). No cost to employee. Not available for dependents. Benefit is two times annual salary to maximum of $300,000 for most covered employees. Accidental Death & Dismemberment: Available only to full-time employees (defined as 40 hours per week). No cost to employee. Not available for dependents.
- Accidental death benefit is three times annual salary to maximum of $300,000; dismemberment benefit based on injury. Optional additional personal accident insurance available to full-time employees for family members. Employee pays cost, depending upon amount of insurance desired.
- Long-Term Disability: Available only to full-time employees (defined as 40 hours per week). No cost to employee. Benefit is approximately 2/3 of basic monthly salary (reduced by any amount received from social security). Goes into effect after 90 days of disability and stays in effect until age 65.
Investment Opportunities
- 401(K) Savings Plan: All employees eligible to begin making contributions immediately upon hire. Employee can contribute up to 50% of salary, to federal limits. Chamber matches up to 6% of eligible earnings. Incremental vesting of 20% per year; at full vesting in five years, match is dollar-for-dollar.
- Discretionary Profit-Sharing Contribution: All employees eligible after one year of employment. Contribution of 1%-5% of regular earnings made twice annually, at
discretion of Chamber CEO; incremental vesting of 20% per year, with full vesting in five years.
Payroll
- Pay Day: Pay days are the 15th and last day of each month, via direct deposit to up to three employee bank accounts.
Paid Time Off
- Paid Time Off: Full time employees receive the annual equivalent of 22 days of paid time off their first year of employment. Pro-rated for part-time employees. Those numbers increase based on length of service.
- Paid Holidays: Ten days per year, pro-rated for part-time employees.
- Paid Parental Leave: After one year of service, employees who give birth to a child, adopt a child or receive a foster child placement will receive 240 hours of paid parental leave to use within one year of receiving the leave.
- Week Between Christmas And New Year’s: The Chamber is closed; this paid time off does not need to be charged to leave.
- Community Service Leave: 2 days per year of paid leave to volunteer at non-profit organizations. Pro-rated for part time employees. Does not accrue and is pro-rated based on date of hire.
Other Coverage and Benefits
- Health Care/Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts: Optional payroll deductions of pre-tax dollars for health care and dependent care; medical reimbursement account includes a debit card. All employee premium shares and employee-paid dependent premiums are handled on a pre-tax basis.
- Employee Assistance Plan: Wellspring Family Services, a United Way agency, provides employees and members of their families with confidential assistance with anger management, drug dependency, elder care, work-related problems, relationship problems, and other counseling needs. Three full counseling sessions annually at no cost to employee/family member with coverage for continuing counseling.
