In response to the July 4 signing of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by President Donald Trump, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Rachel Smith issued the following statement:
“This legislation is out of step with what businesses and communities actually need. Anyone would be hard pressed to see how the provisions in this bill will lower costs, support public health, or grow our economy – all priorities in Washington state. In fact, it adds to the significant economic uncertainty many Americans and American business owners are already feeling. The Seattle Metro Chamber will continue to work with our congressional delegation to advocate for policies that actually reduce barriers, empower small businesses, and expand opportunity for Washingtonians.”
