Explore how we, as a community, are rising to the occasion and reimagining a more inclusive economic future for our region at our 138th Chamber Annual Meeting, Sep. 24.

Below is an introduction to one of our featured sponsors, Advanced Professionals Insurance & Benefit Solutions, and how they exemplify our 138th Annual Meeting theme, Rise and Reimagine:

Who is Advanced Professionals?

Advanced Professionals Insurance & Benefit Solutions is committed to making healthcare benefits simpler and more affordable for small and medium-sized businesses. We collaborate with everyone involved in bringing small-group plans to market, from insurance carriers to plan sponsors to producers, developing tailored solutions that help small and medium-sized companies thrive. Through our partnership with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, we’re able to offer comprehensive employee benefits to member companies through Business Health Trust. Advanced Professionals is the wholesale benefits division of ABD Insurance & Financial Services, which is based in San Mateo, Calif., and provides risk management, insurance brokerage, human resources and retirement consulting services.

How is your company exemplifying our theme of Rise and Reimagine?

When our company named “Elevate” as our theme for 2020, little did we know how important that foundation would become in the months to come. Despite working virtually since March, leadership has remained committed to focusing on ways to lift our team and support our unique culture. We’ve launched a “Work, Love, Play, Lead Speaker Series” rekindled our connections with bi-weekly all-hands meetings that focus on our creative culture; and emphasise communication surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion.

What is something your business has had to pivot during these times?

Because our company already embraced flexible work schedules, we were able to quickly adapt to working exclusively from home. We were encouraged from Day 1 to turn on our cameras and lead by example both internally and with our clients, which has strengthened our relationships in ways we couldn’t have imagined pre-pandemic. Advanced Professionals practice leader Keith VanderZanden even wrote about how our current emphasis on meeting virtually has helped us better support our colleagues and clients in the article. Virtual landscape introduces new tools to support work-life balance.

What partnerships have you formed during these times and how have they helped you Rise and Reimagine?

Advanced Professionals is taking our new “Partners for Tomorrow” tagline to a new level by focusing on updating our technology and product offerings specifically with our partners in mind. This summer we launched valuable time-saving updates to our client-facing online platform, and are introducing products that aim to make their lives even easier, including a benefits administration system from Ease, Allstate Identity Theft Protection and Navia Benefit Solutions.

Are you offering any services to help other businesses during these times that you’d like to share with your fellow Chamber members?

Advanced Professionals prides itself on providing members with up-to-date information on our insurance plans and other employee benefits. With information rapidly changing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we created a COVID-19 Resources Portal on our website, featuring links to important updates from our carriers and other partners; government resources; links to COVID-19 webinars from our partners, including the Seattle Chamber’s #WeGotThisWA series; and general insurance news and insights from ABD, whose Return to Workplace Webinar Series and Guide remain valuable resources for companies of all sizes.
