Reflecting On Our 2021 Elevate NW Conference

The theme of this year’s Elevate NW Conference was Small Business, Big Picture where we wanted to focus on lifting you up from the daily operations of your business and give you tips on how to build your community of people who can help support you and solve some of your small business challenges.

Based on feedback from our members, we created four events in this year’s series tailored to support and assist you in your business operations. In case you were unable to attend any one of , below you will find a recap and view the recorded webinar where applicable.

Our first event in the series, How to Build Your Support Team, focused on having a team of mentors, coaches & peers who can help your small business succeed, and how to recruit them to your team. It featured a discussion with Jeneferness Tucker from the Washington Small Business Development Center Network, Lisa Hufford of Simplicity Consulting, and was moderated by Jose Vazquez from Ventures. During our second event was Maximizing Your Virtual Network, Hal Brookins shared tips for networking on LinkedIn to help your small business build relationships and connections. Hal’s tips included:

• You get out what you put in: connect people you know who can help each other
• Treat LinkedIn groups for making like-minded and industry connections
• Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator for sales leads
• Take advantage of LinkedIn’s free classes under LinkedIn Learning

Our third was the Mastermind Group, this was a breakout session where fellow small business owners in the webinar used the mastermind technique shown here to assist each other in solving business problems that other members brought to the table.

The grand finale of this year’s Elevate NW Conference was our Keynote Conversation with Doug Baldwin Jr. and Seattle Chamber President and CEO Rachel Smith.
