Better Business Bureau Great West + Pacific (BBB GWP) announces that it is now accepting applications for its regional 2023 Torch Awards for Ethics & Spark Awards for Entrepreneurship programs.
Businesses of every size based in Washington are invited to apply for BBB GWP’s annual Torch Award recognizing marketplace role models.
“The Torch Awards for Ethics is a celebration of businesses in our service area that are committed to operating ethically and with integrity,” said Tyler Andrew, president and CEO of BBB GWP. “Applying for and then earning this honor is a true confirmation of a business’s success building trust with its employees, customers and communities.”
BBB GWP will select honorees in the following tiers for each of its service area regions:
Tier 1: Small Business of the Year
Tier 2: Medium Business of the Year
Tier 3: Large Business of the Year
The BBB Torch Awards for Ethics honors organizations whose leaders demonstrate a high level of personal character, ensure that the organization’s practices meet the highest standards of ethics, and consequently generate trust with its customers and the community.
Awards selections will be based on responses to prompts focused on the character of the organization’s leadership, including examples of how they foster an authentic culture, prioritize customer relationships, and positively impact their community.

All businesses meeting the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply online now through Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. BBB Accreditation is not required. The application and the criteria and eligibility requirements can be found at thebbb.org/awards.
Businesses operating for three years or less may apply for the Spark Awards for Entrepreneurship. This award highlights young organizations demonstrating high character, generating an authentic culture about their mission, and going above and beyond for their community. Applications for the 2023 Spark Awards are being accepted now through Friday, June 23, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. For more information on the Spark Awards, visit thebbb.org/awards.
An independent, voluntary panel of judges comprised of business and community leaders who previously won Torch & Spark Awards will score all finalist applications. Torch Awards & Spark Awards winners from each state will be announced as part of a virtual ceremony later this year.
