Tourism

Alaska cruises, award-winning wineries, world-class dining and shopping, boutique and luxury hotels as well as a spectacular natural setting are just some of the factors that make King, Pierce and Snohomish the top three counties for travel spending in Washington state.

According to the Prosperity Partnership, a regional economic development coalition, the Tourism cluster employs 95,000-plus in various skill levels throughout the region. Industries involved range from hospitality to culinary to recreation. Given the strength of this sector, the Prosperity Partnership recently added it to the list of key regional clusters and will be conducting further economic analysis and strategy development. See www.prosperitypartnership.org/clusters/tourism for more information.
