Public Affairs Committees

STANDING COMMITTEES
Alaska Committee
The Committee enhances business links between Greater Seattle and Alaska through a series of programs held throughout the year.

Clean Energy Committee
Educates businesses on strategies for economic growth while embracing new clean tech and sustainable practices. Helping to develop and support a statewide clean energy strategy including funding, incentives, and regulatory reform.

Tax and Regulation Committee
Provides input and recommendations on utility rates, ensures the city's land use codes support responsible development and efficient and environmentally sound use of our land, and examines other taxes and regulations affecting the business community.

Legislative Committee
The Committee develops the Chamber's legislative agenda for issues addressed at the State legislature. The committee is comprised of government relations executives and meets in Olympia during session. Contact: George Allen, 206.389.7268

Policy Council
The Council, representing small business and corporate members, evaluates local, regional and state issues that affect the business climate and quality of life (including initiatives and referenda). It also makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees regarding the Chamber's position on these issues.

Transportation Committee
A coalition of the private sector, municipal and county governments, and organized labor, that promotes coordinated leadership on transportation issues. It also works to secure necessary funding for King County transportation projects and to increase awareness of transportation needs and solutions.

AD HOC COALITIONS, CHAMBER INITIATIVES & PROGRAMS
The Alki Foundation
The Foundation encourages business community involvement in the local political process. Alki evaluates candidates for local office and provides networking opportunities with local elected officials throughout the year.

SR 99 Corridor Coalition
Dedicated to advancing the bored tunnel replacement of the Alaskan Way Viaduct.

Transportation Partnership
The Partnership is a coalition of business, labor and environmental groups who support increased statewide and regional funding of our regional transportation system.
