What is the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce?
Founded in 1882, the Greater Seattle Chamber is a private, membership-based organization that promotes economic prosperity in our region and provides businesses with tools to grow. Our strength lies in the number and diversity of our members. The Greater Seattle Chamber often works with government to improve our region's business climate but is not a department of any governmental entity.

Does my business need to be located in Seattle to join the Greater Seattle Chamber?
The Greater Seattle Chamber is a regional business resource and advocate. Approximately 40 percent of our 2,200 members are located outside the city of Seattle; geographically, our reach extends as far north as Marysville and south to Olympia.

Are dues tax deductible?
90% of annual membership dues are tax deductible as a necessary and ordinary business expense.

Are small businesses involved in the Greater Seattle Chamber?
More than 80 percent of our members are small businesses. The Greater Seattle Chamber works to support these businesses by providing professional development, networking and marketing opportunities, employee benefit and cost-saving programs.

The Greater Seattle Chamber holds more than 350 programs per year. Offerings include networking events, professional development workshops and seminars, public affairs programs and annual membership events.

Do I need to be a member to attend Greater Seattle Chamber functions?
Greater Seattle Chamber programs are a benefit of membership and are intended for employees of member companies only; however, a few annual events are open to the public. Additionally, we welcome prospective members to attend one of our programs to learn more about us.

The Greater Seattle Chamber takes action at the local, regional and state levels to strengthen economic vitality and improve the climate for business.
