About our presenters
Michael Westgate is a senior customer marketing manager in Microsoft's US Small and Midsize Business Organization. He is responsible for customer acquisition and social media strategy, designing digital campaigns and owning all programming, content and engagement for Microsoft's SMB social properties. Westgate began his career at Microsoft on the US Windows Marketing Team, first launching Windows 7 to channel reselling partners, then taking the lead for the launch of a new IT management and security cloud service, Windows Intune.
Carl Timm currently runs marketing and business development for Brandify, a startup focused on helping small business marketers easily enhance their brand, reach more customers, and monitor online customer engagement. Prior to Brandify, Carl enjoyed stints as a rock climbing instructor in California, an internet crime sleuth in DC, a business student at the University of Michigan, a marketing maverick in Seattle, a pimp in Oakland, and a cowboy in Arizona. So, clearly he knows about branding of all types.
